Henley Education was founded to solve a problem every science teacher knows all too well: students desperately want their exam papers marked and given detailed feedback as exams approach, but there simply aren't enough hours in the day to provide the quality, individual attention each student deserves.

Our Founder

With a Science degree and PGCE in Secondary Science, our founder spent 17 years in the classroom, including 8 years as Head of Year, before stepping back to focus on family. Teaching across some of Oxfordshire's most challenging schools—from areas ranked in the top 10% most deprived in the country to more affluent, middle-class communities—provided invaluable insight into how students learn differently depending on their circumstances.

The breadth of experience teaching Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Psychology across such diverse environments revealed one universal truth: every student benefits from personalised, immediate feedback, regardless of their background.

Why Henley Education Exists

The inspiration came from a familiar classroom scene: students queuing up with practice papers, eager for marking and feedback, but knowing that thorough, individual responses for 30+ students simply wasn't sustainable. Students needed more practice, teachers needed more time, and the traditional approach wasn't serving either well.

The Solution

Harness AI to provide the quality, detailed feedback students crave, whilst giving teachers back their time to focus on what they do best—actual teaching.

Our Philosophy

AI is here to stay. Rather than viewing it as a threat to education, we believe in learning how to use it properly—as a tool that advances learning rather than replacing human expertise. Henley Education combines the precision of artificial intelligence with the pedagogical understanding that only comes from years in real classrooms.
