HE – Frequently Asked Questions

Student FAQs

1. Will this make revision faster?

Yes. HE focuses only on what actually matters for you. Instead of revising everything, you get questions that target your strengths and areas to improve, so your revision time is shorter and far more effective.

2. How does HE know my strengths and areas to improve?

Your 5-star ranking helps HE understand where you're confident and where you need more support. When your teacher uploads your exam results, HE combines both pieces of information to create a personalised set of questions built around your strengths and areas to improve.

3. What do I need to use it?

HE runs in a web browser on laptops and tablets. We're continuing to improve it so it becomes fully mobile-friendly over time.

4. Is it just another boring revision tool?

No. HE gives you clear, focused practice that actually moves your grade. You only see questions linked to your specific areas to improve, and you can watch those areas shrink as you work through them. It removes frustration and guesswork.

5. Does it help me improve faster than textbooks?

Yes. Textbooks cover everything. HE focuses only on your actual areas to improve, based on exam performance and your 5-star rankings. Every question you see is purposeful and directly linked to where progress is needed.

Parent FAQs

1. Why should I pay for HE when tools like ChatGPT are cheaper?

ChatGPT is a general AI tool. HE is built specifically for GCSE Science and designed to identify precise strengths and areas to improve using exam-board-aligned analysis. HE diagnoses gaps instantly and builds the right practice around them, which generic AI tools cannot reliably do.

2. How is HE different from revision apps like Seneca or Tassomai?

Those tools provide revision content. HE provides diagnosis, analysis, and targeted practice based on your child's real exam data and 5-star rankings, so your child revises only what actually moves their grade.

3. Is my child's data safe?

Yes. HE is built around strict GDPR compliance with UK-based storage and minimal data collection. No student data is used to train external AI models.

4. Can I monitor my child's progress?

Yes. The Parent Dashboard allows you to see:

  • Strengths and areas to improve
  • Daily and weekly activity
  • Topic trends
  • Optional screen-time limits
  • Alerts if performance drops

5. Will this work for students who dislike revision?

Yes. HE reduces overwhelm by showing only relevant, manageable tasks based on your child's actual needs. When students see clearer progress, motivation often improves naturally.

6. What subjects are included?

HE currently focuses on GCSE Science (AQA). More subjects, including Maths and English, are planned on the roadmap.

7. Is this a replacement for tutoring?

No. HE supports tutoring. HE identifies gaps quickly, so tutors can focus on what truly matters. Many parents use HE alongside tutoring.

8. How much does HE cost?

HE will offer simple, transparent pricing with:

  • Monthly student plans
  • Parent plans
  • School licences
  • Free trial options

Exact details will be shown on the HE website.

Teacher FAQs

1. How does HE save teachers time?

HE reduces workload around assessment cycles, especially mocks and end-of-topic tests. You upload question-level data once, and HE generates:

  • Topic-by-topic analysis
  • Class heatmaps
  • Individual strengths and areas to improve
  • Suggested intervention groups

This removes hours of manual spreadsheet work and sorting.

2. How accurate is HE?

HE is optimised for AQA GCSE Science with validated topic mappings. Accuracy increases over time through structured updates and teacher feedback.

3. Can HE be used across full classes or entire year groups?

Yes. Teachers can upload data for a whole class or cohort, view class-level and year-level heatmaps, track individual students, and export reports for parents or senior leadership. It makes it easier to identify who needs support and where.

4. How is HE better than ChatGPT or generic AI?

Generic AI does not fit the normal school workflow. HE is built specifically for UK schools and exam-board-aligned science:

  • Automatically maps every question to the correct GCSE topic
  • Builds full class dashboards from assessment data
  • Identifies students who need intervention in specific areas
  • Generates targeted question sets for those areas to improve
  • Operates within a GDPR-safe environment
  • Requires no prompt engineering or manual AI setup

HE becomes part of the assessment → feedback → intervention cycle that teachers already follow.

5. Does HE support all exam boards?

HE is being built to support all major exam boards, but right now it is fully optimised for AQA. Support for other boards such as Edexcel and OCR is on the roadmap.

6. Does HE integrate with school systems?

Full MIS integration is planned. At the moment, HE supports straightforward PDF uploads, CSV uploads for question-level data, and clear class-level dashboards for intervention planning.
